Very delicious food. The service is very nice. Make sure to ask for their homemade hot sauce very delicious and adds a nice kick to the meal. We got the soul n' bowl, it is a very good deal. The plantains were very delicious and cooked well, I loved the crispy pieces. The rice and beans were nicely seasoned but nothing life changing. The collards were quite good, I like that they use the whole vegetable so you get the stem pieces. The meat is all very good the only issue is there is so many bones that it is a bit of a hazard to eat. Each dish comes with lots of sauce and is served hot, (unlike other places). The coconut corn muffins taste very good, they are very dry but when you dip it in the jerk chicken sauce it is amazing. The oxtail fries are not worth it, the fries lack salt and its just gravy with beans, good but a bit expensive for the amount. The sweet tea is very good as well. We went late on a Friday night and got parking right it front. The music is insanely loud so you cant really hear anything but its not surprising.

Island Soul is one of my top 3 favorite Seattle restaurants. I always like the servers; they are swift, no-fuss, and knowledgeable. Good plant-based options,* though 1-2 more entrees wouldn't hurt. The food has a homecooked quality, which is why I like it so much. Casual atmosphere. Lively art on the walls. (*IF you include the sides, which you should because they are tasty).

Came here around 8:30pm on a Tuesday evening and was seated quickly, despite there being a good number of people inside. The staff were friendly, took our order quickly and we didn't have to wait long for the food. We ordered the baked mac and cheese which was delicious, cheesy, and everything you'd want in a mac and cheese. We also ordered the bbq chicken which had a particularly good bbq sauce. The one downside was that the music was quite loud, so if a large group went, it might be hard to converse. Overall a tasty meal that I'd come back for!

I've always enjoyed coming here. Our server Kyle was the best! He was sarcastically funny and my friends and I loved it! We came to get a drink after and event and got some food off of their happy hour menu too. They had great options to choose from. I got the jerk wings and fries, they were fire hot! It was my first time getting them there and I was told they're spicy but not to bad. Unfortunately I couldn't finish them. Which is a surprise because I enjoy spicy foods but these were just unbearable. I'll try again another time and hopefully I get to enjoy them. My past experiences here, the food has always been amazing. All in all, this is place has a great vibe and despite my hot jerk wings the food is really good.

The tostones! I'm a dude that loves plantains. The tostones were this fried starch plate for you to shovel more delicious alliums and other veggies on top. First thing that came out and really stole the show. My friend got the gumbo and it was a clean plate club moment for her. I got the curry chicken and it was good, hearty didn't totally blow me away. Bf got the smoked chicken. This was the money maker. Omg the glaze was so dark and rich licking and then it was sweet and Smokey and just utter yum at the same time. Service was awesome. Our server was super attentive and kind. The music is loud just FYI. Definitely give it a try! It's some hearty soulful food.
